jewlsbytanya has been a successful charity project of mine for several years. My jewelry making hobby has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of very young children in the village of Bulembu, Swaziland. I began by supporting the EnduduZweni Child Care Center in Bulembu. Six years later that center has now closed, but the children of Bulembu continue to need support to overcome the challenges in their everyday lives. Many of the children who graduated from the child center are now attending the "big kids' school", The Bulembu Christian Academy (BCA). This is a fee paying private school with a student to teacher ratio of 20:1 instead of the 60:1 ratio of the local village schools.
I have been to Bulembu and toured the facilities of BCA. I have sat in the classroom with the children I support, listened to their studies, looked at their homework and spoken with their teachers. More importantly, I have met most of their parents whose gratitude is overwhelming for the help they receive for this educational opportunity. I receive twice yearly updates complete with report cards and photos to keep abreast of how my "kiddos" are progressing and growing.
All profits from the sales of jewlsbytanya products are sent directly to the Bulembu Christian Academy to pay for the tuition (fees, uniform, school lunch) of children who have graduated from the EnduduZweni Child Care Center
